Last week we took our exam and successfully passed our second "module" at our language school. We also began our third module where we are finally getting to busy ourselves with...writing! We got an overview of the written language, which was bit daunting. We learned some fun facts (Khmer has the most consonants of any language in the world) and some slightly overwhelming facts (the language has regular consonants, subscript consonants, regular vowels, inherent vowels and stand alone vowels...or something like that!) We understood just enough to be both apprehensive and excited.

Here's what our afternoon studying looks like these days. It's a flashback to kindergarten for sure!
